The deal includes physicist Dr. Heiner Meldner and composites engineer RJ Downs, who developed Cuben Fiber sailcloth for the 1992 America’s Cup winner, America3. North, which is headquartered in Milford Conn., bills the high-performance material as “one of the lightest and most technologically advanced sail cloth materials on the market today.”
